first example
OK... Follow this step by step and you'll get an idea of what's going on:
- Open this page up in a new window or tab so you can read it while you get taken through Kendra Base.
- Go to the main page by clicking in the top left menu item "Main Page".
- Under main the "Main topics" section click on "music ontology".
- Then click on "song performance".
- Now you have options of:
- Editing the definition of song performance
- Entering a new song performance
- Or querying all song performances
- Let's do a query. Hit "Make query" in the top left menu strip. See? Enter in a number of constraints by selecting the keword from the leftmost drop down menu. You caqn leave the operator on 'equals' for now.
- Enter "2003" for the "Year" keyword and "7" into "track_number". Hit "search" and get results. Look inside the results. See the year and track number? Does it match 2003 and 7? Phew!
- Go back a couple of times till you're on the "song performance" page again. Hit "Edit this page" in the top left menu strip. Just like a wiki page. Add a property. Then try query again. See your property now? More detailed instructions:
- Get to the 'song performance' page.
- Hit the 'Edit this page' button in the top left menu.
- Duplicate one of the property rows and add in your own terms. Then hit the save button at the bottom of the page. Your property should now be in there.
- When you now do a 'Make query' you should see your property in the first (left most)column of drop down menus.
- Then try to enter an instance.
Now we'll test the same-as relationship - as I write only possible on dev2...
- Go to the main page by clicking in the top left menu item "Main Page".
- Under main the "Main topics" section click on "music ontology".
- Then click on "Song Work".
- Hit "Make query" in the top left menu strip.
- Enter "11" for the "Duration" keyword only. Hit "search" and get results. You'll see only one result. Look in it. You wont see 'Duration' but you will see 'Durata'. It found this record because we had a 'same as' relarionship between the 2 terms. Right now we have not many records that are marked up in different languages - only one actually. But 'same as' works! ;-)
All the forms automagically get created from the triplets database. Bear in mind it's all concept stuff right now. An important stage is when we add in relationships between properties like song=track and an inference engine and we are away! See the wish list:

We would love to have your comments and questions:
Don't be shy. Whatever you say and wherever you say it you'll not offend us! ;-)
